In the societies 50th year we welcomed a record number of over 930 attendees to the 39th edition of the independently run IAS Awards at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.
The objective of the IAS is always to enable professional networking through several national and regional events and to raise money for chosen charities. To date we will have raised close to £1 million to worthy causes over the years. Donations from the IAS have provided emergency accommodation for families with critically ill children, funded awareness and educational support for suicide prevention, provided direct research into kidney disease and over the last 12 months fed children daily in our most vulnerable cities with proper nutritious food.
Josh Pater, IAS Chair, was delighted to announce that the society had raised, 3 months early, the charity target this year of £50,000.00 for the Variety - the childrens charity. Donating something tangible was front and centre in this celebratory year and what better way than to fund a Sunshine Coach for this amazing children’s charity.
Laurence Guinness, CEO of Variety - the childrens charity, was delighted to announced that the Sunshine Coach, funded by the IAS,was going to Herons Dale Primary School in West Sussex. Laurence added that the coach would allow the disabled children and youngpeople of the school to have access to their communities and new places, creatingexperiences and life skills that simply could not be delivered within the fourwalls of the classroom.
Huge thanks must of course go to every one of our kind sponsors. Their continued generous support allows us to maintain a reasonable ticket price and remain accessibleto so many.
We are also extremely grateful to our judges this year - Amit Babbar, Tim Packer, Camilla Wells, James Feltham and Edward Jackson who gave their time generously and dealt expertly with the longest nomination list in the 39 years of these awards.
