The BFI IMAX is the largest cinema screen in Britain. It measures 26m by 20m with a total screen size of 520m². It is a venue familiar with hosting many high profile premieres. Recently hosting the film premiere of Mission Impossible: Fallout with Tom Cruise in attendance, as well as The World Premiere of The Blue Planet II, where The Duke of Cambridge, Sir David Attenborough and Composer Hans Zimmer visited the venue for the event.

The BFI IMAX was the highest grossing IMAX cinema in the world for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

James has spent more than twenty-five years as a respected TV broadcaster, futures analyst and writer with a strong focus on social, economic and technological trends up to Horizon 2025.

Andy Street CBE

Mayor of the West Midlands

Before becoming Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy combined a career at John Lewis, Britain’s most successful workers’ co-operative, with a host of high-profile economic development roles, working with local and national government. Starting on the John Lewis graduate scheme, Andy rose through the ranks to become managing director, overseeing one of the most successful periods in the company’s history.

Tom Riordan

Chief Executive Leeds City Council

Since 2010 Tom has overseen £300m of efficiencies across Leeds City Council and £3.9bn of investment in Leeds. Flagship developments include Victoria Gate, First Direct Arena and Trinity Leeds, with a further £7.35bn of projects in the pipeline. Plans are set to double the size and economic impact of the city centre through regeneration of the South Bank, developing the Innovation District and connecting HS2 to a redesigned station.

Paul Johnson

Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies

Paul Johnson is director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS). The institute is widely considered the leading independent economic research and analysis organisation in the country. Paul has published and broadcast extensively on various issues in the economics of public policy including tax, welfare, inequality and poverty, pensions, education, climate change and public finances.

Dr Kevin Fong

Motivational Speaker

Dr Kevin Fong is both astrophysicist, medical specialist and a natural storyteller. After working with NASA he specialised in lessons from the effects of extremes on human physiology. He is also part of hospital Emergency Response and Major Incident Planning, as well as an air ambulance Emergency Doctor. All of this provides a unique insight into how we all cope with risk and making decisions under pressure, as well as teamwork.

Steve Wall

Founder/MD of the Sequoia Partnership and supply chain expert

Pioneer of Numerically Assisted Thinking – using a statistically robust, data-driven approach to problem-solving. Increasingly undertaking client projects to design more sustainable Supply Chains and to release working capital from stock. A leading thinker advising the major grocery retailers and manufacturers and currently a powerful advocate of the fact that we are in the midst of a Grocery Distribution revolution.

Alex Harvey

Head of Robotics & Autonomous Systems for Ocado Technology

Alex is Head of Robotics and Autonomous Systems for Ocado Technology. Recent career highlights have included the Morrisons ecommerce launch and the successful award of two EU Commission funded robotics research projects working with several high profile European universities. Before joining Ocado in 2010 he worked for HGL Dynamics developing real time safety monitoring systems for the dynamic analysis of gas turbines. He redeveloped the company’s application suite and negotiated, specified and managed the delivery of advanced systems for the Royal Navy. He began his career in the aerospace industry, having studied mechanical engineering and computer science at Edinburgh university.

Martin White

Former Global Supply Chain Director for Primark

Martin has been a Chief Supply Chain Officer for over twenty years in a range of retail and wholesale businesses, the last of which was as Global Supply Chain Director for Primark, the fast growing apparel retailer. In those roles, growing and restructuring supply chains has seen him lead many programmes to create new logistics facilities and to close or repurpose older ones. He has led the strategy, design and implementation of over 20 distribution centres over 400k sq ft up to 1.1m sq ft. He is currently a Board Advisor on supply chain strategy to several businesses across Europe.

Craig Moore

Head of Supply Chain, DP World

Craig is a seasoned supply chain expert.He started his career, which spans almost 20 years to date, at Grampian Country Food Group working with the poultry division before then starting a 14 year spell at Tesco which saw him establish distribution networks in Eastern Europe and Asia. In 2017, he joined DP World and is now Head of Supply Chain, working with retailers, manufacturers, importers, exporters, shipping lines and third-party logistics companies to reshape UK supply chains and bring about environmental and efficiency benefits.

Rt Hon Lord William Hague

Keynote Speaker

William has been a prominent political leader for more than 20 years, serving as Leader of the Conservative Party and as Foreign Secretary. After announcing his intention to step down, he concluded his political career as First Secretary of State and Leader of the House of Commons. In four years as Foreign Secretary William dealt with a turbulent period encompassing wars in Libya and Syria, withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Ukraine crisis.
