I just wanted to give the IAS members a quick update. During “lockdown" we have been busy utilising the funds that your members so kindly donated to the Foundation.
We have recently formalised a partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association to provide a structured program of respite care and Life Improvement Grants both for plwMND (People living with MND) themselves and their families. This will continue for the foreseeable future and maintain Malcolm’s extraordinary legacy.
Here is a link to show you the sort of grants that are available MNDSUPPORTGRANT
We see this as a fantastic way to make a real difference for the greatest number of people whilst we also continue to provide specialist equipment and funding for research.
During lockdown, plwMND have been in increased isolation and separated from family and friends more than ever due to the high risks of exposure. We were delighted to be able to provide a significant number of specially adapted ipads, headsets and communication aids and have also been able to help one particular gentleman (a surveyor himself) with garden adaptations so that he can access the garden and “watch the stars”.
Your donation has, and will continue to make a massive and wonderfully received benefit to so many as they battle this relentless disease.
We will keep you up to date with our activities over the coming months but you can follow recent news at MALCFOUNDATION
